Reilly was born in Fort Riley North, Kansas, but he grew up mostly in Bergenfield, playing for the Bergenfield High School Bears. He got an athletic scholarship to Montclair State College -- now Montclair State University.

He's perhaps best known for his role of Officer Bobby "Hot Dog" Nelson, on "CHiPs," from 1982-1983. He's had a variety of TV and film roles -- including Peter D'Allesio on the early '90s show "Valley of the Dolls."
