TENAFLY, N.J. — Dogs rocking colorful bandanas and other accessories scampered on tangled leashes at Tenafly's Municipal Circle Park during Pet ResQ Inc's 6th annual adoption fair, known as "Woofstock," on Oct. 11.

Costume-clad canines and pups in strollers joined in the fun at the kissing booth, yoga tent and treat stands, which drew hundreds to the west end of the promenade on a bright, sunny day.

The non-profit Pet ResQ was founded more than 20 years ago by Robyn Urman, a Tenafly hair dresser from Dumont committed to rescuing unwanted, abused and special needs pooches.

"I am honored and humbled by all of the support and so proud to be a positive, giving influence on all these kids," Urman said. "They are amazing."

John McKiernan, 12, handed Urman $80 that he collected with a lemonade stand. McKiernan, who walks dogs in his Tenafly neighborhood, promised more to come.

"I just hope it helps them find homes," he said.
