Bergenfield Mayor's Wellness Challenge Is Fast Approaching

BERGENFIELD, N.J. -- Residents 18 and older are being challenged in Bergenfield to commit to get fit when the program kicks off Sunday, April 3.

The Mayors Weight Loss challenge has a name change. The annual program is now the Mayors Wellness challenge.

The 2016 Mayors Wellness Challenge is a free, town-wide program for Bergenfield residents. The challenge is an 8-week program that includes free workshops, exercise class and fitness trials; weekly weigh-ins; health and fitness guidance; and raffles and prizes. 

Yoga, Zumba and Meditation classes will be offered on a weekly basis. Heavenly Waters will offer free purified water to participants. 

The kick off motivation day to meet the sponsors runs 1-2:30 p.m. at the Bergenfield Borough Hall Court Room.

The program ends Thursday, May 26 at 6 p.m.

The challenge is sponsored by the Mayors Wellness Campaign, Bergenfield Health Department, Bodyworks Rehab, Heavenly Waters, Blue Dragon School of Martial Arts, Bergenfield Academy of Martial Arts, CHIP: Community Health Improvement Partnership of Bergen County, Bergen County Obesity Prevention Task Force.
