The A.T. Project -- also known as The Alumni Terpsys Project -- is a summer intensive that raises money and awareness for various causes through the art of dance. "Our mission with this initiative is to bring people together for a common cause and to educate people on diseases and illnesses where there still is no cure," organizers note.
The eight-week-long program culminates in a public performance, with dances conceptualized and choreographed by young thriving artists, all graduates of the Terpsichorean program. ("Terpsichorean means "of or relating to dancing.")
This year, the spotlighted cause is the fight against cancer, and proceeds will go to the American Cancer Society. Tickets are $10 in advance or $15 at the door. For more info on how to make a donation or purchase tickets, email alumniterpsysproject@gmail.com.
The performance will begin at 8 p.m. at the Nunnbetter Dance Theatre, located at 161 Woodbine St., in Bergenfield.
