Crews for the state Department of Transportation (NJDOT) will work on the Route 30 drawbridge over Beach Thorofare from Monday, Feb. 26 to Friday, Mar. 1, the Atlantic City Police Department said. The bridge will be raised for 30 minutes an hour between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. each day. State police will be near the construction area to help with lane closures. Motorcyclist Killed In Atlantic City Crash: Police A 61-year-old motorcyclist from Pleasantville was killed in a crash, authorities said. The crash occurred at 8:42 p.m. on Sunday, June 18 near mile marker 54 on the eastbound lanes of Route 30, Atlantic City police said. Police found that Pearl Matthew had been ejected from his seat. He was pronounced dead at the crash scene. A preliminary investigation, that included witness statements, revealed that Matthews left the roadway and struck a pole. Atlantic City Man Arrested With Loaded Handgun A 23-year-old man from Atlantic City was arrested with a loaded handgun and ammunition, authorities said. At 4:46 p.m., detectives of the Special Investigations Section arrested Daniele Tuitt in possession of a loaded handgun, police said.  Detective Alberto Valles was conducting surveillance when he observed Tuitt crossing Route 30 near North Carolina Avenue.
