A Plumsted Township man was killed and his wife was seriously injured when a tow truck hit their motorcycle, authorities said. Jackson Township police responded to the crash on Hawkin Road at around 3:16 p.m. on Thursday, June 27, Chief Matthew Kunz said in an email. Erin Doyle, 53, of New Egypt, was pronounced dead at the scene. His 47-year-old wife was airlifted to a trauma center with a serious leg injury. A former bookkeeper admitted to stealing more than $350,000 from an advocacy group for New Jersey apartment building owners, authorities said. Karly Simon-Sapp, 50, of Plumsted Township, pleaded guilty to theft on Monday, May 13, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer said in a news release on Thursday, May 23. South Jersey Man Intentionally Started Two Fires, Including State-Owned Building: Prosecutors
A Plumsted Township man was accused of intentionally starting two fires in Ocean County, authorities said. Edward Petroni, 41, was charged on Monday, Mar. 4 with two counts of aggravated arson, burglary, and two counts of unlawful possession of a weapon, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer announced in a news release. The charges come from two fires in Plumsted and Jackson townships on Friday, Mar. 1. Driver, 59, Killed In Jersey Shore Crash
A 59-year-old woman from Browns Mills was killed in a crash in Ocean County, authorities said. On Friday, May 12 at 5:48 p.m., the woman was driving a 2013 Volvo at the intersection of Longsamp and Route 539 in Plumsted Township, police said. As she entered the intersection, a 2021 Sliver Nissan that was driven by a 40-year-old man from Princeton was traveling south on Route 539.
