A grand jury indicted 56-year-old Jeffrey Finlay on Wednesday, Aug. 28 for 149 counts of animal cruelty, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer said in a news release. Police Rescue 83 Cats From Jersey Shore Home Police in Brick said they rescued 83 cats and three dogs from a home in the township. On Thursday evening, May 4, Brick police said they had received a call from a resident on Mantoloking Road requesting police assistance for "an excessive number of cats inside the residence." Police requested assistance from Berkeley Hazmat as well as Brick Township Fire District #1.  Once conditions were determined to be safe, authorities began removing the animals, police said.
