Jeffrey Jastrzembski Indicted
An Atlantic City man was indicted after a boat crash killed a woman last summer, authorities said. A grand jury indicted 53-year-old Jeffrey Jastrzembski for first-degree aggravated manslaughter on Tuesday, Mar. 19, the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office announced in a news release. He was charged in the deadly crash on Saturday, Aug. 12, 2023. A 50-year-old motorcyclist from South Jersey has been charged in connection with the death of a passenger in an alcohol-related crash, authorities said. Joseph J. Melini of Vineland was charged with vehicular homicide on Monday, June 5, according to the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office. On Oct. 30, 2021, at 8:10 p.m., Melini was involved in a crash in the 300 block of Delaware Avenue in Atlantic City while operating a 2005 Harley Davidson motorcycle, the prosecutor said. An off-duty New Jersey State Trooper was twice over the legal limit when he struck a Hoboken police car in an early-morning crash over the weekend, authorities said. Prosecutor: Ocean County Man, 56, Admits Fatal Alcohol-Involved Crash
A 56-year-old man from the Jersey Shore has admitted to fatally rear-ending another motorist from Toms River in an alcohol-related crash, authorities said. Douglas Thompson of Jackson, pleaded guilty to death by auto on Thursday, according to Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer. Thompson entered his plea before Superior Court Judge Guy P. Ryan. When he is sentenced on Jan. 11, 2021, the state is recommending a state prison term of five years, Billhimer said.
