A letter on Tuesday, April 12 from Superintendent Tracy Handerhan informed the district that Wall Township High School Principal Rose Sirchio had been placed on leave, the outlet said.

The following day, it was announced that the same was true for Wall Intermediate School Principal Erin Embon.

The Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office filed juvenile complaints in January against seven students as a result of two separate investigations into hazing and sexual assault. The hazing charges follow an investigation into a series of incidents that occurred during September and October 2021 in the Wall Township High School football team’s locker room, the prosecutor said at the time.

Three teachers who coached the football program and the athletic director were previously suspended.
