Matthew Cademartori, 25, of Northfield, was traveling eastbound on the White Horse Pike when he allegedly struck Talmadge Franklin, 67, of Absecon who was walking eastbound, according to Acting Atlantic County Prosecutor Cary Shill.

After striking Franklin, Cademartori allegedly left the scene of Saturday morning's crash, Shill said.

Cademartori was placed under arrest at his home on Monday and charged with second-degree leaving the scene of a fatal motor vehicle crash, Shill said.

He was transported to the Absecon Police Department where he was processed and then taken to the Atlantic County Justice Facility where he was being held.
