At approximately 3:20 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 17, deputies from the Frederick County Sheriff's Office were called to Winchester Boulevard, near Mountville Road in Adamstown following reports of a single-car crash. Investigators say that a person driving a Nissan Altima lost control while negotiating a curve when the vehicle went off the roadway, down a hill, and struck a tree.
