David Linthicum In Custody, Officer Seriously Injured After Days-Long Manhunt (

David Linthicum was taken into custody early Friday, Feb. 10 after a days-long manhunt and two police-involved shootings, police in Baltimore County announced. Things began unfolding when a family member called police to a Powers Avenue home around 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 8, where 24-year-old Linthicum shot and injured an officer, county police said. A Maryland high school will have an increased police presence on campus leading up to Thanksgiving following a new threat that was made targeting the building. New information has been released as police in Baltimore continue investigating a threat made targeting an area high school. An alert was issued by the Baltimore County Police Department on Monday, Nov. 21, advising that there is a continued police presence at Towson High School as the investigation continues into a threat made targeting the building on Thursday, Nov. 17. Maryland Elementary School Calls Classes Early Due To Fumes From Overnight Farm Fire
A Maryland elementary school was forced to close early on Thursday morning due to an overnight fire. Baltimore County Public School officials announced that Sparks Elementary School on Belfast Road had to close at 10:45 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 27 due to fumes from an overnight fire at a nearby farm close to I-83. At 12:36 AM @HerefordFire was alerted to an outside fire on Cold Bottom Rd near I-83. A pile of hale bales was found on fire.The fire is under control but is not out. Security Tightens At Baltimore Middle School After Explosive Device Found Near Campus
The Baltimore County Public School system released a statement about the security upgrades implemented at Pine Grove Middle School after a recent scare, reports said. On Sept. 20, the middle school was evacuated when a suspicious package was found nearby. Law enforcement's investigation reveled that two individuals placed an explosive device inside of a car parked outside the school. Baltimore County Schools Close After Widespread Storm Damage
Damage caused by the severe storms that tore through Maryland earlier this week has shut down several Baltimore County schools, officials say. Seven schools are closed Thursday, July 14, after power outages, according to Baltimore County Public Schools. The schools that are closed include: Carroll Manor Elementary School; Hereford Elementary School; Pot Spring Elementary School; Riderwood Elementary School; Summit Park Elementary School; Sparks Elementary School; Fifth District Elementary School.
