Deputies Bust Six In Major Maryland I-70 Drug Trafficking Stop, Sheriff Says
A traffic stop on I-70 turned into a major bust when Frederick County Sheriff's deputies recovered a loaded handgun and significant quantities of cocaine and heroin, leading to the arrest of six people.
On Thursday, Dec. 5, around 9:12 p.m., deputies stopped a Volkswagen Routan near Monocacy Boulevard for equipment and moving violations, officials said.
Upon spotting drug paraphernalia in plain view, officers searched the vehicle and its six occupants, uncovering a loaded .45 caliber pistol, 264 grams of suspected cocaine, 100 grams of suspected heroin, and additional paraphernalia.

Brady Alexander Knatz, 26, of Hampstead, allegedly initiated sexually explicit conversations with the teen, identified as S.C., in September 2024 using the username "scooby_snacs," police said. Four men have been indicted in connection with an organized retail crime ring responsible for 37 thefts across six Maryland counties, causing approximately $800,000 in losses, authorities announced Monday.

Authorities arrested three individuals, including a juvenile charged as an adult, following a collaborative operation between the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), officials said.
