A jilted employee who opened fire at his former workplace and supervisor's office received a harsh sentence in St. Mary's County, authorities announced. Lexington Park resident Sidney Joseph Spry, 29, was sentenced to 75 years in prison with 52 years to serve for attempted second-degree murder, first-degree assault, and weapons offenses. A man previously linked to a shooting in St. Mary's County has been sentenced to more than a decade in prison for distributing the fentanyl that caused a fatal overdose, the state's attorney's office announced. Darrick Monte Evans, 45, now living in Washington, DC, has been sentenced to 16 years in prison for selling fentanyl stamped as Oxycodone, leading to the deadly incident.
