Firetruck Rolls Over Onto SUV En Route To Assist Agency With Maryland House Fire: Sheriff
Authorities say that a Charles County Fire water tanker truck was involved in a crash, reportedly while on its way to assist another agency with a house fire on Wednesday afternoon. At approximately 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 16, the Charles County Sheriff's Office issued an alert advising that the agency was investigating a crash involving a firetruck and SUV. Authorities have arrested the suspect wanted in the University of Virginia shooting that left three people dead and two wounded on Sunday, Nov. 13. Christopher Darnell Jones Jr., a UVA student and former walk-on football player from the Petersburg area, was taken into custody just before 11 a.m., according to the UVA Police Department. Oxon Hill Popeyes Killer Sentenced For Stabbing Man Who Cut In Line For Food
A man who stabbed a person to death outside of a Popeyes in Oxon Hill has been sentenced to over two decades in prison, reports WJLA. Ricoh McClain, 32, was convicted last April of killing Kevin Davis, 27, outside of the restaurant in the 6200 block of Livingston Road on Nov. 4, 2019 after Davis allegedly cut several people in line to order food, the outlet continues. McClain and Davis got into an argument about the incident before walking outside where McClain fatally stabbed Davis. McClain has been sentenced to serve 22 years in prison for the murder. Two people were arrested after hitting a Prince George's County police officer and several police cruisers with a car, reports WJLA. Officers patrolling the 3300 block of Walters Lane when they noticed an illegally parked vehicle around 9:10 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 8. Fairfax County Students Invent Automated Walker In Aim To Treat Parkinson's Symptoms
Two young women from Fairfax County have worked together to create an ingenious device to treat symptoms of Parkinson's disease, WJLA said. Kaavya Karthikeyan and Akanksha Tibrewala, best friends and classmates at Chantilly High School, invented an automated walker to assist people with Parkinson's and those who struggle to walk, the website said.
