Enemias Bautista Perez, 38, of Greensboro, was sentenced to 25 years in prison in Wicomico County for sexually abusing a minor under the age of 9, the maximum penalty allowed under Maryland law for that charge, officials said Thursday.

That sentence will run consecutively to a separate 25-year term in Caroline County for abusing the same victim, good for 50 years.

Perez pleaded guilty in Wicomico County back in January.

Investigators said most of the abuse occurred at a home in Caroline County, but a separate incident took place in Wicomico.

According to the Wicomico County State’s Attorney’s Office, Perez will not be eligible for parole until he’s served half his sentence.

If released, he’ll be subject to lifetime supervision and must register as a Tier III sexual offender for the rest of his life.

“The diligent investigation by law enforcement and the multi-disciplinary approach of the Child Advocacy Center ensured that all of this defendant’s illicit deeds came to light,” State’s Attorney Jamie L. Dykes said.

“I hope the strong sentence imposed by the Court will provide some measure of solace for this victim.”
