The crash occurred on Tuesday, Nov. 21, at approximately 2:53 p.m. on the 13100 block of Triadelphia Mill Road.
Investigators say a 2016 Toyota Corolla traveling east crossed into oncoming traffic for unknown reasons and collided head-on with a 2017 Toyota 4Runner.
Anaya Rivas, the driver and sole occupant of the Corolla, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the 4Runner, also an adult female, sustained serious injuries and was transported to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
Triadelphia Mill Road was closed for about 2 ½ hours following the incident.
