National Philharmonic Welcomes Historically Black Church Choir, Donate Proceeds
Days after news broke of a racist vandalism of a historically black church in Potomac, the National Philharmonic's Messiah performances will welcome the vandalized church's choir to the stage. Two upcoming National Philharmonic Messiah performances will donate funds toward the Scotland A.M.E Zion Church, which is making headlines after it was vandalized on the night of Friday, Nov. 25, states a spokesperson for National Philharmonic. Pop sensation and talented flutist Lizzo was lent a very special instrument from the Library of Congress during her D.C. concert, the singer wrote on her Twitter page. Singer Lorde Claims She Swam In 'Unsafe' Potomac River While In DC
Lorde, the popular singer from New Zealand, told fans she spent time swimming in the Potomac River, which has been deemed unsafe for swimmers, while in D.C. for a concert, Fox 5 reported. Though there is no proof of the pop star actually swimming, fans laughed and clapped as she described swimming in the nearby waters, the website said. The Potomac River is currently deemed unsafe for human swimmers, as the water has harmful bacterial levels, Fox 5 said.
