The remnants of a fire pit outside a Harford County home resulted in a fire that left five people and several pets temporarily displaced. At around 2 p.m. on Monday afternoon, first responders from the Susquehanna Hose Company responded to Otsego Street in Havre de Grace, where the owner reported a fire outside the family's home. Seven Dogs Perish In Massive Maryland Blaze That Displaced Family: Fire Marshal
Several family pets died overnight in Cecil County when a fast-moving fire broke out in a Port Deposit home. Crews from the Rising Sun Volunteer Fire Company were called shortly before 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 12 to Post Road, where residents advised that a kitchen fire had broken out. Upon arrival, firefighters were met by flames and smoke showing from the home, which suffered extensive damage before the scene was declared under control approximately 45 minutes later, investigators said. Feral Cat Prowling Outside Maryland Hotel Tests Positive For Rabies: Health Department
A feral cat who became aggressive outside a Cecil County hotel has tested positive for rabies, the Health Department confirmed on Wednesday. On Saturday, Aug. 10, Animal Services picked up a cat near the Best Western hotel on Elwoods Road in North East that later tested positive for the virus after acting aggressively in the area. The cat was described as being a small to medium-sized brown and white female tabby.
