A mass stabbing at a home in York has left a 34-year-old woman and a 5-year-old child dead on Monday, August 22, authorities say.
Pennsylvania state police were called to the stabbing in Firebox Court, Hopewell Township, at 7:19 p.m. according to a release the following morning.
Local police and state troopers arrived to find multiple people had been stabbed and dispatchers initially said this was a "mass casualty" incident.

D.C. Police Offer $25K For Information On Fatal Stabbing Incident
Police are offering a $25,000 reward for information on a recent homicide suspect in D.C., officials said.On August 14 at around 9:45 p.m., officers responded to the 3900 block of 4th Street, where they found a female victim suffering from stab wounds, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.
The victim, who was pronounced dead at the scene, was identified as Cynthia Parker, officials reported.
Anyone with information on the incident or the suspect is eligible for a $25,000 reward, and should contact police at 202-727-9099.

Police are investigating a fatal stabbing that took the life of a Mt. Rainer man, authorities say.
Isreal Akingbesote, 37, was stabbed at his job in the 9000 block of Woodyard Road around 4:40 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 10, according to Prince George's County police.
Officers arrived to the scene and discovered Akingbesote suffering from multiple stab wounds, they said.
Akingbesote was rushed to a hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Man Stabbed Victim Dead During Argument In Baltimore: Police
A Baltimore man has been charged in connection to a fatal stabbing inside of an apartment, authorities say.
Jeffrey Chaney, 56, is accused of stabbing Peter Riley, 50, inside of the residence in the 600 block of West Lexington Street around 6 p.m., Thursday, July 28, according to Baltimore police.
Officials pronounced Riley dead at the scene. Detectives believe that the stabbing happened during an argument.
Chaney, as well as the weapon used, was taken into custody at the scene.
