Student Arrested For Threatening Violence At Maryland High School, Sheriff Says A teen is facing charges following a potentially scary situation that played out at a Charles County high school on Tuesday, according to the sheriff's office. On Nov. 19, an SRO at Henry E. Lackey High School was advised about a student who was yelling in the hallways that he was going to bring a weapon to school to harm another student. According to officials, the School Resource Officer was able to locate the student in question, contacted their guardians and followed up with a home visit. Maryland Middle School Student Caught Packing Loaded Handgun In Lunchbox, Sheriff Says A middle school student had a little too much iron with his school lunch on Wednesday afternoon in Charles County, leading to the recovery of a handgun, according to the sheriff's office. Administrators at the Benjamin Stoddert Middle School were alerted shortly after 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday afternoon about a student who was possibly in possession of a gun inside the building. The School Resource Officer assigned to the building was notified, identified and located the student, who was found to be in possession of a loaded handgun in their lunchbox. No threats were made.
