Easter Sunday Fire Leaves Four Injured, Family Displaced In Gaithersburg
Several people had to be rescued from an early morning Easter Sunday house fire in Gaithersburg that left one hospitalized in critical condition, according to Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service officials. Crews were called at approximately 1 a.m. on Sunday, April 9 to a two-story home in the 9600 block of Whetstone Drive, where three people were trapped inside after a blaze broke out in the back of the home. A construction worker who suffered a painful injury while on the job in Calvert County had to be airlifted to an area hospital for treatment and evaluation, fire officials say. At approximately 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 1, paramedics and a helicopter responded to a stretch of Ridge Road in Huntingtown, where there was a report of a construction worker who cut his leg with a saw. At least one crane operator was injured after reportedly falling at a construction site in Silver Spring, authorities say. Two adults suffering from trauma were rushed to a hospital after at least one fell around 30 feet at the construction site of the future Silver Place, according to Montgomery County Fire and Rescue.
