Same Prince George's Road Sees Two Fatal Collisions Hours Apart
A road in Prince George's County saw two crashes in which three people died just hours apart over the weekend. The crashes occurred within a five mile stretch of Annapolis Road, one around 2:35 a.m. and 10 p.m., Saturday, May 21, say Prince George's police. Two people died in the first crash, a single-vehicle collision on the 12200 block of the road around 2:35 a.m., police said. A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle later that night on the 9000 block. Details Released In Maryland Garbage Truck Crash That Killed DC Driver
Details have been released in a crash involving an overturned garbage truck that killed its Washington DC driver in Maryland Park last week. Checcia Durham, 43, struck a curb and overturned the truck at the intersection of East-West Highway and 44th Place around 2:40 p.m. on Thursday, May 5, according to the Prince George's County Police Department. Pickup Truck Strikes And Kills Scooter Driver From Kensington: Police
A person driving a scooter was killed after being struck by a pickup truck in the Lewisdale area over the weekend, authorities said. Raymond Bradley, 60, of Kensington, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash that happened at the intersection of East-West Highway and 23rd Avenue just before noon on Sunday, March 20, Prince George's Police said. Initial investigation revealed the truck hit Bradley while the truck was turning on 23rd Avenue, police said. The truck driver stayed on scene and was left unharmed, police said. A 33-year-old driver was killed and a second was critical after a head-on crash last week in Maryland, authorities said. Javonte Boddie, of Clinton, was heading south on Kenilworth Avenue in Cheverly, when he lost control, went off the road, roleld over and struck another car heading north around 5:20 p.m. Friday, Feb. 25, Prince George's County police said. A Washington, DC man died in a Monday morning crash in Maryland, authorities confirmed. William Hill, Jr., 56, was driving southbound on Kenilworth Avenue in Capitol Heights when he veered off the roadway and hit a jersey wall around 5 a.m., the Prince George’s County Police Department said. Hill was pronounced dead at the scene. The crash remained under investigation, authorities said. A 39-year-old man walking on the side of the road died two days after being struck by a car in Prince George's County, authorities said. Brandon Harris, of Oxon Hill, was walking in the far right lane when he was struck by a southbound vehicle on Indian Head Highway and Oxon Hill Road around 6:50 p.m. on Feb. 10, county police said. A Washington, DC man has been identified as the victim of a fatal crash in Oxon Hill, according to police. On Jan. 23, at around 12:45 a.m., 35-year-old Cornelius Brown crashed his vehicle at Glen Rock Avenue and Brinkley Road. He died at the scene, Prince George's County Police said. Investigators believe Brown was driving eastbound on Brinkley Road, approaching Glen Rock Avenue, when his car left the roadway, mounted the guardrail and ultimately landed on its roof. Juan Acevedo Castellon, 56, was heading north on Tucker Road when the vehicle behind him attempted to pass his truck around 1:35 p.m. near Palmer Road, county police said.
