19 Boosters Required For University System Of Maryland Students Next Spring
The University System of Maryland has announced that all students living on campus during the Spring 2022 semester must receive a COVID-19 "booster shot." USM says this will be in addition to their additional round of vaccinations, students who have been exempted from getting vaccinated will not be subject to the booster requirement. A sudden rise in COVID-19 cases forced the shutdown of a Walmart in Laurel, according to Reuters. The Laurel store was closed last week, according to an internal memo obtained by Reuters, because several people at the store had reportedly contracted COVID-19. Walmart did not confirm the information It was one of almost 60 Walmart locations in the US that had to be shut down in December due to COVID-19. Maryland now has a total of 700,553 confirmed cases of COVID-19, also breaking a daily record of new cases in a single day by adding more than 14,000 within 24 hours, according to the state's Coronavirus dashboard. Maryland's health department reported a spike in the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the state.
