Evelyn Escobar died on Wednesday, April 16, after what loved ones described as a courageous battle with the disease, according to a heartfelt GoFundMe launched by her friend and cousin-in-law Sandra Lisset Molina.
“Evelyn was a radiant light in the lives of all who knew her — a devoted wife, loving mother, loyal friend, and kind soul who touched so many with her warmth, strength, and compassion,” Molina wrote. “Her departure has left a void that can never be filled.”
The Maryland woman leaves behind her husband, Nelson Rincan, and their daughters, who are now navigating life without her love and guidance.
The fundraiser aims to help cover funeral expenses for the planned service on Friday, April 25, and support the young girls left in the wake of tragedy.
“All funds received will be used to pay for the funeral services,” Molina said. “Any funds left over will be given to her husband to use for their daughters’ needs.”
As of Thursday, April 24, donations were steadily climbing as friends, family, and community members shared the campaign and posted emotional tributes across social media.
“We join the grief of the Escobar family,” wrote the ILOBASCO DMV Organization in a public tribute. “Until heaven Evelyn, our greeting. Strength for the family.”
Those unable to donate are asked to share the campaign to help spread awareness and bring support to the Rincan Escobar family.
