Images of a suspect believed to be involved in at least three bank robberies in Montgomery County have been released in an effort to identify them, authorities say. Detectives believe the suspect was involved in separate robberies from Tuesday Jan. 18 through Saturday, March 12, according to Montgomery County police. On Tuesday, Jan. 18, the suspect entered a bank on the 3500 block of Spencerville Road in Burtonsville and slid a note to the bank teller at 3:10 p.m., announcing the robbery and demanding money to which the teller complied, investigators said. Police Intercept Rape At Silver Spring Transit Center: Transit PD
Police intercepted a rape at a Maryland transit center early Thursday, July 21. Tiwan D. Sweet, 38, of Washington DC, tried forcing himself into the victim and physically assaulted her while she waited at the Paul S. Sarbanes Transit Center in Silver Spring around 3 a.m., Metro Transit Police said. The victim yelled for help and Montgomery County Police responded and, intervened in the attack. One juvenile has been arrested and charged with a Gaithersburg armed carjacking of a ride-share driver, authorities say. The victims were picking up customers in the 18500 block of Boysenberry Drive in their black 2019 Toyota Corolla shortly before 1 a.m., Sunday, July 10 when the incident occurred, Montgomery County police say.
