Former Patriots Player Willie McGinest Arrested For Alleged Assault: Report

A former player for the New England Patriots turned himself into Los Angeles Police in connection with an assault that allegedly happened within the past two weeks, TMZ reports.

Willie McGinest, age 51, was placed on a $30,000 bail after he was reportedly booked around 7:30 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 19, the outlet continues. It was not immediately clear what charges he was facing.

McGinest, a former linebacker who played in the National Football League for 15 seasons, was drafted by the Patriots in 1994. He spent 12 seasons with the team and was inducted into the Patriots Hall of Fame in 2015. McGinest currently works as an analyst on several NFL Network programs.
