Stolen cars from all around the area keep winding up in Hartford.

On Friday, Sept. 18, Hartford Police said they have recovered another five stolen vehicles and one stolen firearm. The recovered cars are from

Simsbury

Storrs

Berlin

West Hartford

Longmeadow, MA.

The gun was stolen from Glastonbury, police said.

All of the cars that were stolen were taken with the key fob left inside, police said.

In addition to the recovered autos, police made four arrests including a missing juvenile and a parole violator, police said.

Connecticut and Massachusetts have been hit all year long by a wave of car break-ins and out-right thefts. During one weekend in March, Hartford police said they received reports of 24 cars stolen. On Aug. 27, Hartford Police recovered 36 stolen cars in 24 hours.

In Massachusetts, police departments like the one in Milford are warning residents about a car-stealing ring operating out of Hartford that could include “hundreds” of operatives, police said. Deerfield police, all the way in Franklin County, Massachusetts, and Johnston, Rhode Island, have also reported stolen vehicles recovered in Hartford.
