Body Of Missing Massachusetts Man Found In River, Police Say

The body of a missing man has been recovered from a river in Western Mass.

The discovery took place around 6:45 p.m., Saturday, May 15, when Springfield Police responded to Indian Orchard for a report of a missing adult male, said Ryan Walsh, spokesman for the Springfield PD.

The man's body was located and recovered from the Chicopee River in Springfield, Walsh said.

"Detectives will conduct an unattended death investigation," Walsh said.

The medical examiner's office will determine the cause of death, he added.
