An off-duty officer, who was on a boat in Lake Quinsigamond, called police about a male in the water near Belmont Street around 3:50 p.m. on Tuesday, June 14, Shrewsbury Police said.
Rescue crews recovered the man's body and was later taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. The victim's name was not released.
The investigation is ongoing.
