Da’Vant Byrd died in the crash that happened in the 1000 block of Montgomery Street in Chicopee early Saturday morning, March 25, the Hampden County District Attorney's Office reports.

The involved vehicle, which was being driven at a high rate of speed down Montgomery Street, crashed into a home before going up in flames, the DA's Office said.

Three other people, ages 19, 18, and 17, were taken to the hospital with minor injuries, the DA's Office said. Da'Vant was pronounced dead at the scene.

"RIP Little Cousin," a family member said on Facebook. "Praying for Linka, Apple, and his siblings. Gone way too soon. I love you!"

A GoFundMe campaign has since been established to help cover the costs of the teenager's funeral. People interested in donating can do so here.

Meanwhile the crash remains under investigation.
