State Troopers responded to the crash near Exit 3 on I-84 East in Sturbridge just after 8 a.m. on Monday, May 1, according to Massachusetts State Police on Facebook.

One truck was sideswiped and spilled debris across the highway while the second truck swerved off the road and entered the wood line, police said.

The crash shut down the eastbound lanes for several hours as a result. Traffic was rerouted into a nearby weigh station while crews cleaned up the road and repaired the guardrail.

The operator of one of the vehicles, a 37-year-old man from Stamford, CT, was taken to UMass Medical Center with minor injuries, police said. The scene was cleared at 3:15 p.m.
