The new program will give away five cash prizes of $1 million for eligible Massachusetts residents 18 and older who receive the vaccine, and five $300,000 scholarship grants to anyone between the ages of 12 and 17 who are fully vaccinated.

The drawings will be conducted by the Massachusetts State Lottery.

“The Massachusetts State Lottery is proud to join Gov. Charlie Baker and the Department of Public Health to ensure the health, safety, and well-being of every person across the Commonwealth,” Massachusetts State Treasurer Deborah Goldberg said.

“The Lottery has decades of experience and know-how to hold drawings with the utmost integrity and our team is excited to fulfill an essential role in this initiative.”

According to state officials, The Commonwealth is launching the Massachusetts “VaxMillions” giveaway “as one of many strategies to increase awareness of the availability and efficacy of the COVID-19 vaccines and encourage residents to get vaccinated to keep themselves, their families, and their communities safe.”

“Getting vaccinated is the best way to protect yourself and your loved ones from COVID,” Lt. Gov. Karyn Polito stated. “We are hopeful that this new initiative will encourage even more residents to get the COVID vaccine and help return our Commonwealth to a new normal.”

Drawings will occur once a week beginning the week of July 26, and continue through Friday, August 27. Massachusetts residents can begin signing up on Thursday, July 1.

“We’re hopeful that this giveaway will give another reason and opportunity for people to choose to get vaccinated here in the Commonwealth over the next couple of months,” Massachusetts Gov. Charlie Baker said. “If you’re not vaccinated, you can’t play.”

Anyone interested in registering will be able to do so here beginning on July 1.
