Hewlett Packard In Westborough Laying Off 150 Workers

Hewlett Packard Enterprise reportedly has laid off 146 employees at its Westborough office.

The company filed a "WARN" notice with Massachusetts on July 14 that said lay-offs would take place the week of July 24, according to the MassHire Department of Career Services.

A WARN notice triggers a response from the state-run “rapid response team,” which comes in when a company has planned mass lay-offs. The team seeks to help laid-off employees find new work, services, and skills.

The layoffs are taking place three years after Hewlett Packard purchased SimpliVity and its office in Westborough.

Many of the people let go were former SimpliVity employees, according to CRN, a technology industry publication.
