Amherst Police Officer Andrew Hulse's last day on the job was Friday, April 30, after nine years with the department, said the department.

Hulse was involved in many projects, most notably as a departmental liaison to the department's shelter and as a valued part of its Critical Incident Team, the department said.

Most recently he was in charge of the department's social media department and was an integral part of reworking and maintaining the department's webpage.

"Officer Hulse always displayed a deep commitment to the community and is well-liked amongst his peers," the department said. "He will be missed, but we wish him the best."
