Word traveled quickly through the rank and file of police offices across the state and country, and many of them have sent their condolences and thanks for Frankie's heroism and bravery during his eight years of loyal service.
Massachusetts. Gov. Charlie Baker offered his well wishes and thanks for Frankie's service.
Condolences also came in from fellow K9 officers and their handlers across the country.
Massachusetts State troopers gave Frankie full honors send-off as they took him to Final Gift Pet Memorial Center in Cranston Tuesday night. Police from other departments and firefighters lined the highway overpasses as the convoy of troopers passed underneath to take Frankie on his final ride with his handler Trooper David Stucenski. Frankie served on the force for nine years.
State troopers said they would hold a public ceremony at a later date.
“Frankie had every trait we seek in a good law enforcement officer, canine or human: intelligence, immense courage, and dedication to protecting the public," State Police Col. Christopher Mason said in a statement. “He was as loyal a partner as any Trooper ever had.”
Good boy, Frankie.
