Police officers were called to a home in Adams in Berkshire County just after 5 a.m. to reports of a woman being stabbed. Responders rushed her to a hospital with serious injuries, and she is expected to survive, State police said.
Investigators believe her ex-boyfriend was behind the attack, but when SWAT teams and crisis negotiators went to his home in Savoy, he was not there, official said. Police did not release his name.
Police are searching the area around his home Wednesday afternoon.
Officials asked the public to be cautious of anything or anyone who appears suspicious or out of place and call 911 immediately from a safe distance. You should not approach anyone you suspect of wrongdoing.
