Griswold Crash Leaves Massachusetts Trucker Dead A 42-year-old Middlesex County, Massachusetts, man died after crashing his truck down an embankment along I-395 in Connecticut. Tim Murray, of Ashby, crashed his Freightliner truck in Griswold, New London County between Exit 24 and 28 around 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 8 Construction had closed the southbound right-hand lane of the highway. As Murray merged into the left lane, his 2019 Freightliner hit a guardrail. Murray corrected the truck but not before striking another section of the guardrail.  The truck tumbled down an embankment. The tractor-trailer, which belongs to Ram Transport Inc. of Allston, rolled over on Wednesday, May 17 around 10:15 a.m. when its driver attempted to merge from Route 16 onto Know Marsh Road, according to New Hampshire State Police. The driver, identified as Leandro Done Garcia, of Lynn, drove over granite curbing when trying to merge, made an overcorrection, and overturned the trailer, which was filled with 60,000 pounds of garbage. Recycling Truck Backs Into Pole, Cuts Power To Winthrop Neighborhood Residents in Winthrop were without power for a couple of hours after a recycling truck crashed into a utility pole, authorities said.  Police responded to a single-vehicle crash in the area of Foam Street around 1 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 8, Winthrop Police and Fire said.  Upon arrival, crews found that the truck had backed into a utility pole and sent the power transformer to the ground.  The incident cut power to residents on Foam and Siren streets up until Shirley Street, the departments said.
