An 80-year-old was killed early Monday morning, July 15, after a fire tore through his Revere home. Firefighters were called to the 104 Patriot Parkway home at about 5:45 a.m. to find heavy smoke pouring out of the house. Crews were told the elderly man had limited mobility and was trapped inside, the state Fire Marshal's Office said. A malfunctioning refrigerator is to blame for a four-alarm fire that killed an 80-year-old woman and destroyed a home in Georgetown over the weekend, investigators said. Firefighters were called to the 238 East Main St. home just before 11 p.m. on Saturday, June 22. A woman who jumped off a bridge with the intent to end her life was brought to safety by firefighters and state police marine units, officials say.
