Former Patriots Wide Receiver Danny Amendola Announces Retirement

Former New England Patriots wide receiver and two-time Super Bowl champion Danny Amendola is retiring despite getting interests from multiple teams, ESPN reports.

Amendola, age 36, has spent a total of 13 season in the league and was with the Patriots from 2013 to 2017. Amendola was part of two Super Bowl-winning teams in 2014 and 2016.

"It was better than I could have ever imagined," Amendola told ESPN's Adam Schefter about his career. He later tweeted a highlight reel of his career with the caption, "Wouldn't have it any other way."

Amendola said he is potentially looking pursue other interests including potentially breaking into broadcast, EPSN reports.
