Saugus Eatery Closes After Years, Customers Saddened By Loss of Favorite Manager, Bartender

Diners will have to find a new spot for sushi after an eatery that called itself the "best authentic sushi place to town" announced its upcoming closure.

Oye's Restaurant and Bar, located at 44 Broadway in Saugus is closing after more than four years in business, according to a post made on the restaurant's Facebook page on Thursday, June 1.

The restaurant served up a variety of Chinese dishes and regularly hosted themed dance parties at its party hall.

"After much consideration, we have decided to close the doors of our Route 1 location," the Facebook post reads. "We can't thank you enough for the continued support throughout the years!" 

Multiple fans of the. restaurant took to the comments section to bemoan the loss of manager/bartender Kevin Ye.

"Please let us know where Kenny will be! We loved chatting with him."

"Please let us know where Kenny will be," another said. "He is a great bartender and person."

Oye's owners referred its patrons to their other restaurants, including another location of Oye's in Reading, Feng's Asian Cuisine in Wakefield, and K Pub Kitchen & Bar in Saugus.
