Homeless Man In Custody For Killing Victim Outside Landover Hills Store, Police Say

Police say that a 47-year-old homeless man has been apprehended for a murder in Prince George’s County earlier this week.

Andrew Dougal, who has no fixed addrsss, has been charged with the murder of 31-year-old Langley Sloan on Wednesday, May 24 in Landover Hills, according to the Prince George’s County Police Department.

At approximately 7:50 p.m. on Wednesday night, officers from the Landover Hills Police Department were called to the 6500 block of Annapolis Road, where there was a report of an unconscious man outside of the store.

Upon arrival, officers found the man, later identified as Sloan - who also has no fixed address - suffering from a stab wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigation into the fatal stabbing led police to identify Dougal as a suspect, and he was taken into custody by homicide detectives on Thursday, May 25 in the 3800 block of 64th Avenue after being spotted on surveillance video from a nearby business.

Officials say that Dougal stabbed Salon during an altercation, and the two were known to each other.

Dougal was arrested without incident and charged with:

  • First-degree murder;
  • Second-degree murder;
  • “Related charges.”

He’s being held in the custody of the Department of Corrections without bond. The fatal incident remains under investigation.
