Born in Lansing, Michigan, Monika was a 2002 graduate of Arundel High School, having graduated with a degree in Education from Frostburg State University in 2006, according to her obituary.
Monika she taught elementary school for 16 years at both Riverdale Elementary School and Montpelier Elementary School. One of her talents was speaking to troubled students, who would often come back to visit just to say hello, those who knew her said.
Monika is survived by her husband of seven years, Scott, and her two children. Scott’s work family has set up a GoFundMe account that will be used to establish a college fund for her children, Aleksander and Gabriel.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish (masks required).
