Police say that shortly before 11:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 21, Chambersburg, Pennsylvania resident Antonio Jhamel Farmer, 37, was ejected from a Mercedes E400 that was involved in a single-vehicle crash into an embankment alongside a Carroll County road.

The initial investigation determined that 27-year-old Elizabeth Nicole Jones, also of Chambersburg, was driving north on MD 97 (Littlestown Pike) south of Hanover Road in the area of the Union Mills Homestead on Littlestown Pike in Westminster when she lost control.

According to police, the Mercedes ran off the northbound side of the road, struck a guardrail and then caromed into the opposite lanes and off the roadway into an embankment.

Farmer was ejected from the Mercedes in the crash and rushed to an area hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. Jones was taken to Sinai Hospital for treatment of undisclosed injuries.

Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash.

Possible charges involving Jones are pending.
