A survey of over 3,000 respondents found that almost 1 in 3 Marylanders admit to eating just one sweet treat that triggers them into a spell of unhealthy eating, with the Maryland State Dessert being a big culprit, continues.

The iconic cake is made with thin layers of yellow cake that is separated by caramel fudge icing, leaving it as no surprise that it has some Marylanders struggling to limit their sweet tooth.

Sugar has been established as an ingredient with addictive properties, making it hard for some to break unhealthy eating habits once started. However, with moderation, satisfying a sweet tooth can be easily maintained.
