'Beloved' Father, Computer Administrator From Springfield Suddenly Dies At 53
Momoh Kamara embodied what it meant to truly live life to the fullest. The 53-year-old, who was born in Freetown in Sierra Leone and lived in Springfield, was a beloved husband and father as well as a "respected computer/network administrator," a GoFundMe reads. As Thefts Of 2 Car Brands Spikes, Western Mass Police Urge Owners To Update Security Software
After a series of viral social media videos earlier this year exposed a security flaw in models of Hyundai and Kia cars that make them easier to steal, there has been a spike in thefts of those vehicles. The "Kia Boyz" trend showed how some cars could be easily hot-wired using a USB cable. In Springfield, a dozen Hyundai and Kia cars were stolen in April, with an additional 13 break-ins, police said. Teen Who Admitted To Stabbing Two In Northampton Gets 9 Months: DA
An 18-year-old teen who pleaded guilty to stabbing two men outside of his Meadowbrook apartment in 2020 was sentenced to nine months behind bars on Tuesday, Jan. 31, authorities said. Jesus J. Baez, of Springfield, admitted to two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon causing serious bodily injury and was sentenced to prison and a two-year suspended sentence while he's on parole, the Northwestern District Attorney's Office said.
