Mass Ranks Among Safest States To Use Public Transportation: Study
Massachusetts residents have read plenty of MBTA horror stories, but those are outliers according to a new report that ranks the Bay State as one of the safest in the country in public transportation. Massachusetts came in eighth in the United States for public transportation safety, according to a pre-settlement legal funding company, High Rise Legal Funding. Federal Transit Authority Orders 'Immediate Safety Standdown' For The MBTA
The Federal Transit Authority (FTA) has ordered an immediate "safety standdown" for the MBTA in response to several recent "uncontrolled train movement incidents," MassLive reports. The standdown, which will begin at 12:01 a.m. on Saturday, July 30, will require all MBTA workers to attend a safety briefing so that they can do their jobs.
