$1M Lottery Jackpot: Worcester Karate Instructor Kicks His Way Into Millionaire's Club

A Massachusetts karate instructor will have a near-infinite number of boards to break after scoring a $1 million prize in the state lottery.

Alan D'Allessandro, of Worcester, won the payday playing the “$5,000,000 100X Cashword” game, a $20 scratch-off ticket.

D'Allessandro chose to receive the lump sum payment of $650,000 (before taxes) rather than the annuity, which would have paid the full amount over 20 years. 

He bought the winning ticket at Edgemere Mini Mart, 1 Pineland Ave. #9 in Shrewsbury. The store receives a $10,000 bonus for the sale
