Rainfall is expected to arrive Sunday afternoon, Nov. 10, and continue through Sunday night before wrapping up around daybreak on Veterans Day on Monday, Nov. 11. (See the first image above.)
"The combination of dry brush, fallen leaves, warm days and windy episodes have created ideal brush fire weather conditions," according to AccuWeather.
There are likely to be more wildfires in parts of the Northeast during the day on Sunday, with a high risk in the broad area shown in red in the second image above.
Sunday's high temperature will be generally in the upper 50s.
About a quarter to half of an inch of precipitation is expected from the system arriving Sunday, according to the National Weather Service.
After it moves out on Monday, skies will gradually become sunny, helping the high temperature reach the mid-60s. It will be blustery, with strong wind speeds between 10 and 15 miles per hour and gusts as high as 25 mph.
Tuesday, Nov. 12, will be sunny and cooler, with high temps in the low 50s. It will remain breezy with strong winds and wind gusts again around 25 mph.
Look for cooler conditions on Wednesday, Nov. 13 with a high temperature in the upper 40s.
On Thursday, Nov. 14, the day will begin with partly sunny skies. In the afternoon, it will become mostly cloudy, increasing the chance of rain that will start in the early afternoon and continue into the early morning hours of Friday, Nov. 15.
