A Massachusetts man is facing federal charges after authorities say he made repeated threats online to kill U.S. President Donald Trump, leading to a tense standoff at his home. Police said a standoff near Cushing Academy in Ashburnham Thursday morning, March 30, ended peacefully after a suspect who led officers on a chase locked himself in his truck near the Worcester County school and refused to come, Massachusetts State Police said. A Massachusetts K9 officer has died after an hours-long standoff in central Massachusetts, authorities said. K9 Frankie was shot while assisting officers during the standoff at 40 Oliver Street in Fitchburg, Massachusetts State Police said during a press conference.
